DEVICE AND METHOD FOR COOLING HOT STEEL STRIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device and method of a hot steel strip for stably strongly cooling the steel strip to which tension is not applied after the strip is delivered from the final finishing mill till the strip reaches a coiler. SOLUTION: On a run out table 3 where the steel strip 13 is conveyed on the plural rotating roller tables 9 and between the roller tables, box-shaped back-surface cooling boxes 11 are installed in a position just near to the steel strip and box-shaped upper-surface cooling boxes 10 which are ascendable and descendable to the positions opposite to these back-surface cooling boxes from above the line are installed. Cooling water is jetted to the steel strip vertically symmetrically and the steel strip is passed through the approximately middle part where the streams of these cooling water jetted from the upper and lower parts are joined.
