PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for die casting machine, with which the die temperature in the die casting machine can quickly and automatically be adjusted and the incidence of the defective product can be reduced even in the case that the die temperature deviates from a target temperature, and the cast product having stable quality can be obtained, and a casting method with the die casting machine. SOLUTION: The temperature of the die is measured (step S2), and in the case the measured die temperature is different from the target temperature, a casting condition which influences the die temperature in the regular casting conditions is given, is changed (step S4). The casting condition importing an influence to the quality of the cast product is optimized according to the measured die temperature (step S5), and when the measured die temperature T reaches the target temperature Tr, the regular casting condition is selected to execute the casting (step S6).
