PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer exhibiting excellent acoustic insulation in which transmission of noise generated in the printer to the outside can be reduced. SOLUTION: In a printer 1 where a guide path 15 for guiding a recording material S to a specified route passing through a printer section 20 is formed in a housing 14, an acoustic insulation member 31 having at least a part disposed in the proximity of the housing 14 and at least another part displaceable to a position interfering with the guide path 15 are provided on the side closer to the printer section 20 than the guide path 15. When the recording material S is guided into the guide path 15, the opening part of a space 16 defined by a part of the housing 14 and the recording material S is substantially isolated from the outside by means of the acoustic insulation member 31 and noise generated in the printer section 20 can be prevented from leaking through the opening part resulting in a printer 1 exhibiting excellent acoustic insulation in which transmission of noise generated in the printer to the outside can be reduced.
