PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work chamfering device and a work chamfering method capable of efficiently chamfering even a think work. SOLUTION: This work chamfering device 10 includes a work holding part 59. The work holding part 59 includes a work base 64 and a clamper 80. Fixed grains 76 projected from an upper surface 68 are formed on both end parts 72a and 72b of the upper surface 68 of the work base 64. A static friction coefficient of the both end parts 72a and 72b is larger than a central part 70 and its value exceeds 0.1. A work 85 is held by the work base 64 and a square member 82 with one side open of the clamper 80 at first when chamfering. At that time, the both end parts 72a and 72b make contact with a lower surface 87b of the work 85, and lower surfaces 84 (two points) of both ends of the square member 82 with one side open make contact with an upper surface 87a of the work 85 at points roughly in the same distance from a rotational center P with the rotational center P of the work 85 between them. Thereafter, an upper end edge 86a of the work 85 is chamfered by a grindstone 36a by lowering a tool 34 including the grindstones 36a and 36b. Continuously, a lower end edge 86b of the work 85 is chamfered by the grindstone 36b after retreating and lifting the tool 34.
