PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the breakage or demagnetization of a magnet by the driving impact of a nail in a hammer allowing to drive the nail by a single hand by magnetizing the nail head to a striking surface, to facilitate manufacturing and to reduce manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This hammer H has a handle 10 and a head 20, and the head 20 has a head body 30 and magnets 40 and 41. The head body 30 has the striking surface 30b formed of a circular flat surface, and the striking surface 30b has cylindrical embedded holes 30d and 30d provided on opposite sides on the basis of the center C of the striking surface 30b out of the center C of the striking surface 30b. The head body 30 is formed of a feeble magnetic body, and the magnets 40 and 41 are formed of bar magnets and buried in the embedded holes 30d and 30d in the press-in state. The magnets 40 and 41 are arranged in the striking surface 30b so that one magnet 40 has N-pole and the other magnet 41 has S-pole.
