<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass composition that imparts antimicrobial properties having high durability to the post treatments, for example, with water, detergent, acid, alkali and the like by addition of a reduced amount, an antimicrobial polymer composite material and antimicrobial fiber. SOLUTION: The glass composition for imparting antimicrobial properties contains at least Ag. A polymer substrate is composited with the glass composition for imparting antimicrobial properties and the resultant composite material elutes Ag in an amount of 300 ng/g/day, when it is soaked in an acidic solution with a pH of 1-4 at 130 deg.C for 90 minutes. The antimicrobial fiber that is obtained by compositing the fiber with the glass composition for imparting the antimicrobial properties by dispersing the glass composition in the fiber and/or fixed on the surface of the fiber is imparted acid resistance, alkali resistance and water resistance and manifests high durability of antimicrobial properties, enduring even after the post treatment, for example, in dyeing fiber and alkali denier reduction treatment.</p> |
