PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method for obtaining an inner olefin sulfonate where color tone is especially excellent and also the content of unreacted substances is small. SOLUTION: This method is (A) to obtain a sulfonation reaction product of an inner olefin by reacting the inner olefin with sulfur trioxide, (B) to mix the reaction product with an alkaline aqueous solution to perform neutralization reaction until the concentration ofβ-sultone in water-insoluble substances which are contained in a liquid mixture is reduced down to 50 mol% or below, and (C) to perform hydrolysis reaction.
