PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved power transmission having such a unique combination of a fluid coupling and a wet friction that is able to place the friction clutch in a specified or preset position indifferent of the accuracy of the position in which the power input shaft is installed within the casing of a speed change gear. SOLUTION: The power transmission has a hydraulic coupling actuated by an engine, a wet friction clutch equipped with a clutch outer which is arranged between said hydraulic coupling and speed change gears, and is also fitted to both the output shaft of the hydraulic coupling and the input shaft of the speed change gears by its one end, and a clutch center fitted to the output shaft and other end of the input shaft, and a coupling housing connected to the speed change gear casing that houses said hydraulic coupling and friction clutch. In this power transmission, a thrust shaft is arranged to be positioned in the space between the side of a hub of the clutch center or clutch outer that makes a spline joint with said input shaft and the side of said coupling housing or speed change gear casing facing with the opposite hub side.
