<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve timing device of an internal combustion engine capable of improving reliability of an operation by preventing foreign matters contained in oil returned from an actuator, from invading into an oil control valve. SOLUTION: The variable valve timing device is formed in such a constitution that direction control valves 5 are disposed in oil passages 3, 4 arranged between an actuator 1 and an oil control valve 2 and oil returned from the actuator 1 is discharged from a drain port 11 of the direction control valve 5. It is thus possible to prevent the foreign matters contained in the oil returned from the actuator 1, from invading into the oil control valve 2, and it is also possible to improve reliability of the variable valve timing device.</p> |
