PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver which can obtain network information and program information and can select service, even when desired TS-ID in TMCC information does not exist for some reason, such as a broadcast pause. SOLUTION: When power is turned on (S1), a BS-IF frequency, which is initialized is selected (S2), TMCC information which is transmission information is obtained (S3) and the presence or absence of initialized TS-ID is judged (S4). When initialized TS-ID is present (YES) in S4, network information and program information, which exist in TS data, are obtained (S6). When initialized TS-ID is absent ('NO'), other TS-ID is selected from TMCC information (S5), and network information and program information, which exist in TS data, are obtained (S6). Then, desired service is selected using the information (S7).
