DRIVING BELT, HOOP, AND BELT DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving belt which can reduce the weight and size of a belt drive. SOLUTION: The driving belt comprises an endless belt hoop (311) holding a plurality of ring blocks (320) movably. The hoop made of a titanium alloy which has a Young's modulus (a modulus of longitudinal) of 70 GPa or more, and a Yield strength (at 0.2% Yield strength) of 700 MPa. or more. The driving belt can reduce the weight and size of a belt drive because of its low Young's modulus and high strength.
