PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error propagation suppression method in two-way digital compressed video data communication system. SOLUTION: The error propagation suppression method of this invention includes a step (a) where a video frame sent from an external device is received, a step (b) where whether or not feedback error information including an error block location of a compressed video frame detected in the decoding process by a decoder is received via a communication network is checked, a step (c) where a compressed video frame is configured by using an intra-coding method to code a retrieval area referred to in order to code the error block location and the error block included in the feedback error information in the video frame received in the step (a) by means of an inter-coding method when receiving the feedback error information in the step (b), and a step (d) where the compressed video frame configured in the step (c) is transmitted via a communication network.
