The disc appts. includes a circuit for switching data sent to an audio signal output arrangement between stored data and data read out from the disk. Before audio data reproduction, a program recorded on the disk is read out and stored in the memory. The operation of the servo system and the positioning of the reading appts. is started immediately after the reproduction start operation. The audio signals are continuously reproduced after operation of the servo system and after reading the program from the memory. This occurs during a period when data from a table of contents of the disc are read after the disc is loaded in the disc appts.
