PURPOSE: A brush attachment structure for starter motor is provided to allow stay to be commonly used regardless of the type of brush holder, while reducing manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: A starter motor comprises a stay(1) to be coupled with a brush holder, wherein the stay includes a fixing unit(2) having pressing ends(2a,2b) which have an elastic force for pressing the brush holder and an inclined angle so as to form a trapezoidal receiving space(2c) between two pressing ends. When the brush holder with a brush is inserted into the trapezoidal receiving space formed at the fixing unit, pressing ends of the fixing unit are widened outward since the width of the upper end of the receiving space is smaller than the width of the brush holder body. When the insertion of the brush holder is completed, pressing ends are restored by an elastic force so as to press and fix the upper portion of the holder body.
