The system comprises of a leveling wedge (1) and a brake wedge (2) having meshing profiles (9). The leveling wedge has at least two horizontal steps (4), connected by angled surfaces (5). The brake wedge has a full-width edge on its underside, which is supported on a horizontal step on the level wedge and engages on the angled surface above it. Both wedges are of high-strength plastic, and have internal stabilizing struts (3). The brake wedge has non-slip profiles on its top surface.
