The invention provides a method of recombining a plurality of parental nucleic acids, comprising:
<UnorderedLists id="ula01" listStyle="none" compact="compact"><ListItem>hybridizing a library of oligonucleotides, synthesized to correspond to a plurality of parental nucleic acids, to at least one template nucleic acid;</ListItem><ListItem>extending the hybridized library of oligonucleotides with a polymerase; and,</ListItem><ListItem>ligating the resulting extended oligonucleotides with a ligase, thereby producing a recombinant nucleic acid.</ListItem></UnorderedLists>
