PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a cutting end surface even of a large-caliber steel pipe P requiring a large force at a highly accurate perpendicularity, by placing a chuck mechanism 10 for restricting the steel pipe P at direct near positions on both sides of a disk-like grinding wheel 30. SOLUTION: The steel pipe P is restricted by the chuck mechanism 10 placed at direct near positions on the entering and going-out sides of a disk-like grinding wheel 30 in relation to the running direction D, and cut by the disk-like grinding wheel 30 placed on a truck 42 moving vertically downwardly along a hoisting rail 41. Since the steel pipe P is restricted directly near a cutting part, deflective deformation of the steel pipe P is prevented during cutting to progress a smooth cutting work. |
