PURPOSE: An automatic shift control device of a vehicle is provided to enhance reliability of the decision of suspension by reducing the vehicle speed processing ability less than 5Km/h and to make an automatic shift control device communicate with an external instrument. CONSTITUTION: A microcontroller(80) sets up a target speed range from a shift pattern stored in a memory by using the signals inputted from a speed range input unit(20), a diagnosis signal input unit(30), a throttle opening signal input unit(40), a vehicle speed signal input unit(50), and an engine rpm signal input unit(60). The microcontroller selects a speed range out of an allowable range, inhibits the shifting at the speed range, and resets a target speed range. The microcontroller communicates with an external instrument via a communicating unit(110).
