摘要 The mould cavity (5) is defined by elastic material mould (1, 2) and a laminar splice (9). Pressing an injection nozzle (3) into the splice between the mould half-sections, and applying pressure to the liquid monomer (4) moves the half-sections apart and creates a casting channel for monomer to flow into the cavity. This laminar opening closes again when the pressure on the monomer is released. A device for form-casting of insulation material onto optical fibres (6) comprises a mould cavity defined by an elastic material mould and a laminar splice, which is closed when the mould half-sections are not mechanically activated. When an injection nozzle is pressed towards the opening (8) formed in the splice between the mould half-sections, and a pressure is applied to the liquid plastic monomer, the mould half-sections move apart and the splice opens to form a casting channel allowing monomer to flow into the mould cavity. Once this cavity has been filled, the laminar opening closes again due to the elasticity of the mould material, which returns to its original shape when the pressure on the monomer is released.
