PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of molding a molded object excellent in surface accuracy by more precisely transferring a complicated shape and a fine shape, and the molded object molded by using the method. SOLUTION: A molten thermoplastic resin is molded by using a mold wherein a heat insulating layer is provided at least at a part of the mold wall surface constituting a cavity and the center line average roughness (Ra) of the mirror surface part of the uppermost surface of the cavity is 0.1μm or less and the maximum height (Rmax) thereof is 1.0μm or less.
