The machine (2) on the track (5) has a return circuit whose geometry varies with the position of the train. This circuit also suppresses at the point of origin the field produced by the catenary-train-track assembly, and reduces interference with the magnetic field in the surroundings. The substation (1) with the current strength (I) of the catenary (4) and the currents (I1, I2) has the track subdivided into segments. The return conductor is supplied by vertical conductors linking each segment to it.
