PURPOSE: A device for connecting a local area network using an infrared ray is provided to facilitate installation and takedown. CONSTITUTION: A HUB of small capacity connects a LAN(local area network) segment, being configured to be connected to several PC(Personal Computer) respectively, into one. An optical/electrical converter is connected to the HUB of small capacity by 10 base T class. An electrical/optical convert adapter translates an electrical signal into an optical signal of an infrared ray and outputs it, or translates an optical signal of an infrared ray into an electrical signal and outputs it. An optical/electrical convert adapter receives the optical signal of infrared ray, being output from the electrical/optical converter, translates the optical signal into an electrical signal and outputs the signal, or translates the input electrical signal into an optical signal of infrared ray and output the signal to the electrical/optical adapter. A main HUB connects several optical/electrical converters with each other and is connected to a router.
