PURPOSE: A method for auctioning an intellectual property right on a computer network and a recording medium storing the method are provided for a buyer to buy an intellectual property right as a patent, a utility model, a trade mark, a domain, a literary property right, a computer program, and a semiconductor arranging design from a seller through an auction on a computer network. CONSTITUTION: A seller who wants to sell an intellectual property right through an auction registers auction information including an intellectual property right, an auction period of the intellectual property right, and the final deciding date of right transfer method of the intellectual property right in an auction server by operating computers(S100). A buyer registers bid information including the right transfer method and a bidding price in the auction server(S200). The seller decides and registers the right transfer method in the auction server in accordance with a bid progressing state(S300). A bid detail agreed with the decided right transfer method is extracted and stored in a final auction database, and the highest bidding price is decided as an auction starting price of the final bidding stage(S400). After an auction time is passed, a buyer who suggested the highest bidding price is decided as the successful bidder, and the result is informed through an electronic mail server(S500,S600).
