PURPOSE: A barium magnesium aluminate(BAM) based blue fluorescent material is provided to accomplish superior brightness in UV area suitable to manufacture a lamp and/or a plasma display panel(PDP) by adding activating agent Eu2+ to BAM. CONSTITUTION: The BAM fluorescent material is defined as the formula(1) of Ba(a-b)Mg(c)Al(d)O(a+b+c+3/2d):Eu(b) (wherein 0.5=<a=<1.5, 0<b=<0.3, 0.5=<c=<1.5 and 0<d=<20) and is produced by dissolving 0.5-1.5 molar ratio of BaCO3, 0.5-1.5 molar ratio of MgO, 9-15 molar ratio of Al powder and 0.005-0.21 molar ratio of Eu2O3 in nitric acid, respectively, and adding to the respective solutions with distilled water to form each of the precursor solutions; aliquoting and mixing together them in a composition according to the formula:Ba(a-b)MgcAldO(a+b+c+3/2d):Eub, then drying it; plasticizing the prepared solution under the reduction atmosphere of nitrogen gas containing 5-25% of hydrogen gas and 1200-1400 deg.C. |
