PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional remote control device that cannot have been used for a timer. SOLUTION: When a key discrimination means discriminates operation contents of a depressed operation key, a control means generates a remote control signal in response to the operation contents and allows a transmission means to transmit this remote control signal to a main body unit. Furthermore, when the operation contents of the operation key discriminated by the key discrimination means are prescribed contents, the control means sets a timer time, allows a time count means to count this timer time and when the time count means completes count of the timer time, the control means allows a display means to display a display element such as an LED and allows a ringer means to ring a ringer such as a buzzer. Moreover, after lapse of the timer time, setting changes such as switching of power on/off are automatically made. Thus, the remote control device can realize the timer function.
