PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device which keeps the voltage holding rate of a liquid crystal and which has improved display quality by preventing decomposition or deterioration of the liquid crystal. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is obtained in the following processes. A liquid crystal cell is sent to a vacuum oven (process of putting a cell into a vacuum oven), the power supply for the heater of the vacuum oven is turned off and the chamber of the vacuum oven is evacuated to about 100 Pa vacuum degree (process of starting evacuation). The liquid crystal cell is slowly cooled, for example, to 40 deg.C while deaerating at the aforementioned vacuum degree. Then nitrogen gas introduced into the chamber of the vacuum oven after slowly cooled to return the inner pressure to normal pressure so that inside of the liquid crystal cell is replaced by the nitrogen gas (process of replacing by nitrogen gas). Then the liquid crystal cell is filled with a liquid crystal (process of injection), the injection port is sealed with a sealing material, and the sealing material is irradiated with UV rays excluding rays in the <=330 nm wavelength region so as to harden the sealing material (process of sealing).
