PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold a sensor detecting that an upper frame regulating the upper part of an original carrying path is accurately closed by using a simple fixing means in a sheet carrying device such as an ADF. SOLUTION: A pin hole 61 through which a pin 67 for locking is inserted is arranged at an upper frame 35 where an original carrying path is provided in an openable and closable way at the upper part of an ADF device in order to hold a sensor member 60 on its side part so that the sensor member 60 can easily be attached. When an upper cover 38 is attached with respect to the member 60 set in the frame 35, a pressing member 68 presses the member 60 from above to fix the member 60, and the frame 35 is accurately positioned to the main body frame of the ADF device so that its closed state can be detected.
