<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gravity type latch having the improved function. SOLUTION: The gravity type latch for a gate comprises a key-operation type lock and a latch tongue 16 which is mounted in a housing and holds a striker pin mounted on the gate for the latch, and a front unit 10 comprises a locking member to be driven by the lock when a key is operated and a connection structure to be connected to a separate rear unit 11 mounted on the opposite side of a gate post 43. The rear unit 11 has a key-operation type lock 34, and connected thereto via a connection member 32. Each lock is independently operable, a lost motion connection is provided so that the latch tongue is locked or unlocked, and when the tongue 16 is unlocked, the rear unit 11 drives the tongue 16 via a push-button 34, and the striker pin can be released thereby.</p> |
