PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve earthquake resistance and prevent a canister from being damaged in inserting the canister. SOLUTION: A canister 4 sealing spent fuel 6 is inserted, arranged, and stored in a cask trunk 21 of a cylindrical concrete cask 17. A space S is formed between the internal circumferential wall face of the concrete cask 17 and the outer circumferential wall face of the canister 4 and an intake port 25 and an exhaust port 27 are provided in the bottom end and the top of the cask trunk 21 so as to be communicated with the space S respectively. Four male lugs 31 are provided in series at same intervals circumferentially to the outer circumferential wall face of the canister 4 along the longitudinal direction so as to be projected to the space S. Female lugs 32 engaged with the male lugs 31 are provided in the internal circumferential wall face of the cask trunk 21 of the concrete cask 17. A clearance C for absorbing the radial thermal expansion of the canister 4 is formed in the engagement part between the male lugs 31 and the female lugs 32.
