PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and easily carry out the work for fixing an exposure device and a wire. SOLUTION: This fixing device for the exposure device and the wire of an original reader is constituted so as to read an image while exposing an original by fixing the exposure device to a straight wire moving back and forth in a longitudinal direction and sliding the exposure device in parallel to the wire. This fixing device has a first member extending in a direction crossing the wire from the slidably supported exposure device and a second member for grasping the wire cooperatively with the first member and a fixing member for attachably and detachably fixing the second member to the first member. The first member has a second plane contactably with the wire in parallel thereto and a curving part curving to the wire side engageably with the wire at the front end. The second member has a second plane surface-to- surface contactable with the first plane. The wire is grasped between the first and second planes when the second member is fixed to the first member.
