PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the security of a router during the connection state of it to a leased line, for example, in the network connection method where the router configures a virtual leased line on a public network for the communication. SOLUTION: The router encrypts data and makes communication of the encrypted data via a public network such as the Internet to configure a virtual leased line on the public network and the communication of the router is connected to a communication opposite party. The router revises an encryption key (step S5) at each prescribed time (steps S3, S4) counted by a timer.
