PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load drive device that turned on drives the load via two switching elements connected in series, and can detect abnormality of individual switching elements and improve fail-safe action. SOLUTION: A starter relay 3 is turned on via individual ISS starter relays 1, 2 or via an STA terminal. Relay output from a drive circuit 13 and the level (H or L level) of an inter-contact voltage VJ and an STA voltage VR to the position of an IG switch 5, at individual ISS starter relays 1, 2, which are normal, are known beforehand. Accordingly, by determining whether the inter-contact voltage VJ and the STA voltage VR are at a normal level, what abnormality (on failure or off failure) is caused, in which of individual ISS starter relays 1, 2 can be detected promptly, and the safety of an ISS control device can be improved.
