PURPOSE: A power compensating device using relays is provided to continuously supply the power when power fail occurs at the power converter within the power board by driving the relay and to identify the power board status by turning on the LED when power converter is normal. CONSTITUTION: The power compensating device comprises a power converter(11), a power supply(12), a relay controller(13), the first relay(14), the second relay(15), and an LED(16). The power converter receives the power from the power supply pack of the backboard and converts the power into various powers. The power supply applies the converted power to other component blocks. The relay controller generates the relay driving signal by receiving the power fail signal from the board. The LED is turned on when the second relay is operated. When the power converter fails, the first relay is turned on to receive the power from other board. When the power converter is normal, the second relay is turned on to supply the power to other board.
