PURPOSE: A long message service method and apparatus is provided to efficiently perform a message service by providing only title of a long message to a receiving terminal and providing contents of the long message to the receiving terminal connected with a wire or wireless site through the title of the long message. CONSTITUTION: A long message service server receives a long message service request for transmitting a message from the first mobile communication terminal to the second mobile communication terminal through the first network matching device(S500). A long message service server transmits a long message composition picture to the first mobile communication terminal(S502), and receives long message information from the first mobile communication terminal through the long message composition picture(S504). The long message service server stores received long message information in a subscriber information database and a long message database(S506). The long message service server searches the subscriber information database and transmits a title of a long message to a short message processing system of the second mobile communication terminal through the second network matching device(S508). The short message processing system composes the long message title as a short message type and transmits the composed long message title to the second mobile communication terminal through a switch and the second BTS(Base Transceiver System)(S510). If a user of the second mobile communication terminal requests a long message identification using the second mobile communication terminal by the received long message title, the long message service server receives a long message identification request through the second network matching device(S512). The long message service server requests a user ID and password to the second mobile communication terminal for authenticating a long message identification user and receives the user ID and password from the second mobile communication terminal to authenticate the user(S514). |
