PURPOSE: To provide a linear actuator capable of reducing size and weight by reducing a width directional dimension of a guide rail. CONSTITUTION: This linear actuator is provided with a driving part 12 composed of a magnet type rodless cyliner, a slider 14 displaced under the driving action of the driving part 12, the guide rail 16 for linearly guiding the slider 14 and a set of end blocks respectively connected to one end part and the other end part of the driving part 12, and the width directional dimension of the guide rail 16 almost orthogonal to the displacement direction of the slider 14 by being installed in a recessed part 94 of the slider 14 is set smaller than a width of the slider 14.
