METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ASSIGNING CHANNEL OF COMMON PACKET CHANNEL IN CDMA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for assigning a channel of a common packet channel in a CDMA communication system are provided to receive one signature among a plurality of access preamble signatures from a UE(User Equipment) in a base station and select one signature among a plurality of channel arrangement signatures combined with the received access preamble signature for arranging one among no-used channels of a plurality of physical common packet physical channels. CONSTITUTION: If an acknowledge to a CD_P(Collision Detection_Preamble) is confirmed(2612), a UE analyzes a CA(Channel Assignment) message(2613). The UE determines a reverse scrambling cod and a reverse channel code to a message unit of a PCPCH(Physical Common Packet Channel) according to the CA message and determines a DL DCH channel code set by a power control of a CPCH(Common Packet Channel)(2614). The UE confirms whether the number of slot of a PC_P(Power Control_Preamble) or time information is 8 or 0(2615). If the number of slot of the PC_P is 0, the UE starts the receipt of the DL DCH transmitted from a UTRAN(UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network)(2619). If the number of slot of the PC_P is 8, the UE determines the reverse scrambling code, the reverse channel code, and a slot format used in the PC_P, and composes the PC_P(2617). The UE transmits the PC_P, receives the DL DCH, and starts a transmission power control of a reverse link and a receipt power control of a forward link(2618). The UE composes the PCPCH message unit on the basis of the analyzed CA message(2620). The UE starts the transmission of the CPCH message unit(2621).
