PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for driving a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) LCD device of a previous gate method are provided to improve an aperture ratio and reduce the power consumption by using a TFT LCD device of a previous gate method. CONSTITUTION: A structure of a maintenance storage cell of a TFT is a previous gate method. The same signal voltage is applied to a multitude of signal lines of adjacent pixels displaying the same color. A scan line of a set unit pixel is driven sequentially or a selective voltage in the set unit pixel is changed to a non-selective voltage. A voltage waveform of the signal line is not changed when the scan line of the set unit pixel is driven sequentially.
