PURPOSE: A support frame for cathode ray tube is provided to prevent a damage of the corner part of a support frame side part and reduce doming by thermal expansion of a support frame by dispersing a stress concentrated to a corner part of a support frame side part. CONSTITUTION: A length from the corner of a support frame side part(404) to a notch of the support frame long side part(403_1) is A, a length from a center point of the support frame long side part(401) to the corner of the support frame side part(404) is B. The notch(403_1) formed on the support frame long side part(401) is formed on location in which a ratio of an A/B is 0.10-0.16. A length from the corner of the support frame side part(404) to a notch of the support frame short side part(403_2) is C, a length from the center point of the support frame short side part(402) to the corner of the support frame side part(404) is D. The notch(403_3) formed on the support frame short side part(402) is formed on location in which a ratio of a C/D is 0.08-0.18. A width(W) of the notch of the support frame long side part, a ratio of a W/D is 0.02-0.04, a ratio of a W/D is 2.02-0.06.
