PURPOSE: A glass panel for cathode ray tube(CRT) is provided to make the CRT lightweight without deterioration of the resistance to pressure of a glass panel or of properties required for the CRT. CONSTITUTION: The glass panel for CRT is made of chemically reinforced glass containing 57-64 wt.% of SiO2, 0.1-4 wt.% of Al2O3, 5-10 wt.% of Na2O, 5-10 wt.% of K2O, 7-13 wt.% of SrO, 7-11 wt.% of BaO, 0.1-2 wt.% of TiO2, 0.1-4 wt.% of ZrO2 and 0.01-1 wt.% of CeO2. The glass panel further comprises at least oxides selected from a group consisting of MgO, CaO, ZnO, Sb2O3, NiO and Co2O3. The glass panel has a bending strength of more than 200 MPa and the coefficient of thermal expansion of 95-105 x 10¬-7/deg.C at 30-300deg.C.
