PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dehydrating and drying method and device for sludge, which is capable of simply reducing the volume of the sludge with one device without adding newly equipment such as a dryer. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a filter press type filter mechanism having one or plural pairs of plates 15 and filter cloths 23 arranged between the pairs of the plates 15 and housing the sludge, a diaphragm type press mechanism being in contact with the filter cloth 23 and provided with a groove 18a for discharging the filtrate of the filter cloth 23, a mechanism for supplying the sludge to the filter cloth 23 and discharging the dried sludge, a mechanism for supplying a heating medium to the diaphragm part and pressing and heating the sludge housed in the filter cloth 23 and a mechanism for evacuating the outside part of the filter cloth 23. |
