PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple cleaning device for the surface of a book having a high cleaning efficiency capable of delicately automatically removing a dirt on the surface of the book. SOLUTION: The book 3 is sandwiched between vibrating plates 16 and 17 having a hook and loop fastener 19 with a towel 20 stuck thereto, and a pair of cleaning units 4, 5 are provided approachably to and releasably from each other. An electromagnet 32 and a resonance piece 30 for vibrating the plates 16, 17 are provided. The piece 30 is coupled to leaf springs 26, 27 interposed between the plates 16, 17 and a vibrator base 22.
