摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material causing reduced deterioration and deformation to a substrate and excellent in adhesion to the substrate, and to provide a method for forming a high refractive index layer by using the same, and a method for manufacturing a hologram-forming product. SOLUTION: The coating material comprises a metal alkoxide and/or high refractive index fine particles as the major component. The method for forming a high refractive index layer comprises coating a high refractive index layer on a substrate by the use of the coating material by using a coating means. The method for manufacturing a hologram-forming product having a fine irregular pattern of a hologram formed on the resin surface of a substrate and a transparent reflective layer formed on the surface of the fine irregular pattern comprises using a transparent reflective layer composed of the high refractive index layer.
