PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire capable of securing designated residual cornering force while intending for lightening its weight. SOLUTION: In this pneumatic radial tire 10, an inclined belt layer 20A comprising a steel cord and a circumferential belt layer 20B comprising an organic fiber cord are laminated. In the circumferential belt layer 218, a distance L2 from an equatorial plane CL to its left end in the width direction of the tire is larger than a distance R2 to its right end, that is, since it is asymmetrically disposed right and left, rigidity of the tire gets asymmetrical right and left while sandwiching the equatorial plane, and therefore, residual force is produced. Accordingly, a designated residual cornering force can be secured even with a pneumatic radial tire having the circumferential belt layer placed on the furthest outside layer, in order to lighten the tire and therefore, residual cornering force is produced.
