PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printing head of a partial glaze type which can print well by enhancing a heat dissipation efficiency of a heating resistor when high-speed printing is carried out. SOLUTION: This thermal printing head has a projecting glaze layer 2 and a flat glaze layer 3 separately formed on a substrate 1, a face glaze layer 4 set to a region 15 between the glaze layer 2 and the glaze layer 3 and formed of a material having a lower softening point than a softening point of the projecting glaze layer 2, the heating resistor 7 formed on the projecting glaze layer 2, a driver IC9 mounted on the flat glaze layer 3, and a plurality of individual electrode layers 6 for energizing and connecting the heating resistor 7 and the driver IC9. The face glaze layer 4 is formed via a predetermined interval to the projecting glaze layer 2.
