PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing control circuit capable of efficiently executing counting of a printing rate in low cost. SOLUTION: Print data for all the printing elements is not inspected, but sampling of only the significant number of printing elements is executed. On the basis of the result of the sampling, the whole number of the elements which are to be 'print-on' is estimated. The printing operation is controlled based on the estimated value.
