PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily designating which sheet size should be selected when using an automatic sheet selecting function. SOLUTION: A computer is directly or indirectly connected through a network to at least one printer, and sheets to be outputted to the desired printer are designated, and an image is outputted from the computer. Then, the image size is calculated, based on the number of pixels (the number of dots) of the image to be outputting, and the sheets to be outputted are decided by using a selected sheet list for setting selected sheets indicating which sheet kind the sheet should be selected from, and the sheets in the minimum sheet size capable of housing the image are selected from the sheets described in the selected sheet list, based on the calculated image size.
