PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove toxic substances adhering to a photoreceptor by using an existing transfer roller cleaning mechanism, without newly providing a mechanism for cleaning a photoreceptor. SOLUTION: A photoreceptor cleaning method for the liquid development electrophotography printer has a transfer roller cleaning mechanism 12 for removing toxic substances included in a residual developer on a transfer roller 11 after a transfer process by contacting the mechanism 12 the roller 11. When the printing of the prescribed number is completed, a fixing roller 13 is separated from the transfer roller 11. In order to remove the toxic substances contained in the residual developer adhering to the printable area of the photoreceptor 1 and obstructing the function of the photoreceptor 1, a film is formed by forming a development image for cleaning on the whole printable area of the photoreceptor 1. The development image for cleaning film-formed is transferred on the transfer roller 11, and the development image for cleaning film-formed is cleaned by the transfer roller cleaning mechanism 12. |
