PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner in which ice formed at fin surfaces of an indoor heat exchanger is not melted, evaporated, gasified and emitted into a room at the time of defrosting operation. SOLUTION: An indoor heat exchanger 6 comprised of a vertical segment 6a, a rear slant segment 6b and a lower slant segment 6c is provided with two flow systems composed of a first refrigerant flow passage 9 and a second refrigerant flow passage 10. A third branch pipe 17 provided with a first solenoid opening and closing valve 11 is connected to the first refrigerant flow passage 9. A second branch pipe 15 provided with a second solenoid opening closing valve 12 is connected to the second refrigerant flow passage 10. Refrigerant is circulated alternatively to each of the flow passages to perform a defrosting operation in which a heating operation and a weak cooling operation are alternatively repeated. |
