PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily visually and tactually judge the insertion and removal directions to and from a recording and/or reproducing device and to provide a shutter opening/closing mechanism adequate for the same. SOLUTION: This disk cartridge has an optical disk 5, a cartridge body 6 which has a disk housing section 16 for internally housing the optical disk 5, an aperture 21 for recording and reproducing disposed in the cartridge body 6 in such a manner that part of the recording region of the optical disk 5 faces outward over the inner and outer peripheries, a shutter plate 25 which is disposed to make the aperture 21 for recording and reproducing operable and closable and the shutter opening/closing mechanism 26 which has a guide groove 34 for movably supporting the shutter plate 25. The guide groove 36 is disposed on the main surface of the cartridge body 6 so as to incline with respect to the transverse direction of the cartridge body 6.
