PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix the head side of a plain roof tile in a state of roofing work. SOLUTION: In a portion of head side of a lower overlapped portion, an insertion hole 10 for fixing screw to be driven to the backing of the roof is formed, at the tail side of the slate main body, the plain roof tile forming an inserted position 13 of the fixed screw penetrated at the plain roof tile is laid in a staggered pattern and inserted through the insertion hole 10 of the plain roof tile placed on the roof backing for laying the roof, the fixing screw inserted to the inserting position at the tail side of the plain roof tile of the lower plain roof tile already laid is driven into the roof backing and the head side of the plain roof tile is fixed to the roof substrate.
